We’ve upgraded to Stripe Express

PetPro Connect is transitioning from Stripe Connect Standard to Stripe Express for payments. With the upgrade to Stripe Express, you’ll be able to take full advantage of exciting new features that are coming to PetPro Connect in 2021 and beyond (more to come on that in the next few weeks!).

You will need to complete the Stripe Express account activation process by February 25th to continue using PetPro Connect to collect payments for telemedicine services.

Updating your Stripe account is easy and should only take a few minutes.  You simply need to do the following:

  • Validate that the information brought over from your Stripe Connect Standard account appears correctly in Stripe Express
  • Re-enter your bank or debit account information
  • Activate your Stripe Express account

Getting Started

To begin the Stripe Express activation process, go to “My Settings,” select “Payments” and click on “Activate Stripe Express.”

Verifying your Stripe account information

We have already done the heavy lifting of moving your data from Stripe Connect Standard to Stripe Express. We just need you to confirm that everything looks right. Specifically, you’ll need to validate the following:

  • Mobile Number
  • Email
  • Employer Identification Number (EIN)
  • Industry
  • Business Website

Entering your bank account information

Due to the sensitive nature of financial data, your bank/debit account information was not migrated over from Stripe Connect Standard to Stripe Express and will need to be re-entered.  To do so, select the account type you wish to associate with your Stripe account (bank account or debit card), enter the necessary account information and click “done” once complete.

Activating your Stripe Express account

Once you have completed entering your payout information and clicked “done,” you have completed the activation process. That’s it – you’re ready to begin using Stripe Express for payments!

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I don’t complete the upgrade by February 25th?
If you don’t complete the upgrade, you will be unable to process payments through PetPro Connect after February 25th.
If for some reason I can’t complete the upgrade by February 25th, can I still do it after that date?
Absolutely. Just go to the payments tab and follow the instructions provided in this document. Once you have activated your Stripe Express account you will be able to process payments again.
Will the change from Stripe Connect Standard to Stripe Express have any impact on payments for already scheduled appointments?
Upcoming video appointments that were scheduled using Stripe Connect Standard will still use Standard to complete the transaction. You do not need to go back and change transaction details for those appointments. However, after 2/25/2021 all new video consultations that are scheduled will require Stripe Express.
Are there transaction costs associated with PetPro Connect?

In addition to Stripe’s processing fee of 2.9%, PetPro Connect applies a 5% charge on telemedicine visit transactions. This fee is being waived until further notice.
